Our Mission

The i.t.a. Literacy Clinic at Saint Mary's University was founded in 1997 to accomplish two goals:

        1) Introduce preservice teachers to the benefits of using the initial teaching alphabet (i.t.a.) for remediation of dyslexia and prevention of reading disabilities in young children at risk;

        2) Provide one-on-on tutoring for K-12 children experiencing difficulty with reading, spelling, and written expression.
