i.t.a. Programs for Preservice Teachers

By using i.t.a. to  tutor elementary and secondary students with dyslexia, preservice teachers learn the value of the initial teaching alphabet for remediation of older students who have failed to develop accurate and fluent reading, spelling, and writing.  In their literacy methods courses they learn how i.t.a. facilitates the development of phonological awareness, decoding, and writing in normally-developing young children and in those at risk for reading-spelling disabilities.
